Share in exciting plans for our ongoing witness for Christ as we build together for the next 50 years.
God has big plans for our church!
We have the opportunity to serve Christ by building up our church and community for generations to come.
Together, we can:
- Address deferred maintenance by renovating our facilities for ministry.
- Improve our facilities for ministry by addressing accessibility, traffic flow, unification of programs, additional rooms, and consolidation of campus for future revenue.
- Expand our mission with increased commitment to local and international mission efforts.
Town Hall Meeting on May 19
In 2018, this congregation committed $13 million towards an exciting Capital Campaign. With designs from our architects, Beyer, Blinder, Belle, and with estimates from our contractor, MCN Build, Inc., it’s time for action! The Session, Capital Project Steering Committee, and Facilities Master Planning Team are excited to present their recommendations to the congregation on Sunday, May 19 at 12:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All members of the church are encouraged to attend as we “Build Together for the Next 50 Years”!

We are overwhelmed with the generosity of this congregation. So far, a remarkable 460 households have made commitments totaling $13 million…thank you! Business is booming in DC, and construction costs have risen exponentially since the rough order of magnitude cost estimates were presented to the congregation in fall 2017.

Our intention is to have a final project that is accomplished with no long-term debt. We do anticipate obtaining a bridge loan at some point after construction begins. Any loans required would need to be approved by the congregation.
We are investigating several avenues to fund our Capital Project in addition to your generous support. If you have a specific suggestion, we would love to hear it! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

We continue to investigate improvements to our current systems and associated maintenance against a prism of balancing upfront costs and long-term benefits. Our investigation includes analyzing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, acoustic, accessibility, technology, and “green” energy options...and much, much more! Do you have a comment or question about our plans? We’d love to hear from you! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pray! Give thanks for our donors. Pray for new donors. Pray for our staff. Pray for our Capital Project volunteers. Pray for wisdom and discernment for our architects, contractors, and consultants. And, most importantly, pray that the improvements to our facilities will be a blessing to our church family and enable us to better share the good news of Jesus Christ.
A Prayer for our Capital Campaign
Gracious God, our Creator and Giver of all that we have and are, for this Capital Campaign and beyond, we are profoundly grateful for the blessings and grace that you bestow on us. Our heart’s desire is that your will be done. We ask for your guidance as we seek to serve you with the time, talents, and treasure you have given us. With joyful and generous hearts we pray for unity and boldness. May we discern wisely how best to follow you and act imaginatively as we pass on the message of your boundless grace, love, and peace throughout our church, community, and world. In the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
