Thanksgiving Collections

Food donations for NPC mission partner Central Union Mission will be collected as part of the Thanksgiving Day service. You and your family can help people  struggling to feed their families this Thanksgiving. A monetary collection will also be received during the service. You can also help pack food after the service; contact Nancy Chapman:nancy@nchapman.com, or 202.966.8031. 
 
Collecting:

  • Canned meat, fish, chicken, and kidney beans, black beans, chick peas, soybeans, white beans 
  • Canned vegetables and fruits (in juice)  
  • Dried fruits
  • Nuts
  • Bags of rice and dried beans/lentils
  • Spaghetti sauce with or without meat
  • All types of whole  grain pasta
  • Soups – especially those with extra protein sources – meat, beans, chicken
  • Crackers
  • Low sugar, high fiber ready to eat cereals and oatmeal, cream of wheat, or other dry grains
  • Peanut butter or other nut butters
  • Raw, relatively non-perishable vegetables – white potatoes, yams, onions, jicama, squash, etc
  • Raw, relatively non-perishable fruits – oranges, apples, bananas, mangos, pears, papaya
